Jason Statham proves that age is no excuse to be fit

Age can never be an excuse to keep fit and 54 years old Jason Statham proves it. The actor maintains an enviable physique, with many fibers and many muscles, the result of a strong daily workout that includes cardio, weights and high resistance.

The discipline of physical training is nothing new for the British actor, who in the late 1980s became England’s representative at the Olympics with the diving team.. From there he “jumped” into the fashion industry as a model and then went on to act, becoming one of Hollywood’s best known and most sought after actors.

Jason Statham is one of the many celebrities whose shape remains intact over the years, and that is due to tough training programs and strict diets. The protagonist of “Fast and Furious 7” maintains a 6-day weekly workout routine focused on increasing muscle mass and accelerating metabolism. For this, the actor takes his body to the limit and changes routines frequently to ensure a better result.

For the actor, variety is the key to developing a fit and healthy body. That’s why he changes his workouts frequently, doing different exercises and routines to work on multiple muscle groups at the same time. For example, on Mondays he does a pyramid circuit of push-ups, pull-ups and barbell squats, with the aim of avoiding injury. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays he practices rowing and a circuit of five exercises to be repeated 10 times with light weights, favoring speed and agility. On Thursdays he does 20 air squats, then moves on to front squats, doing five sets of five reps and 105% of his body weight. On Saturday Statham climbs the rope five times to a height of twenty feet; five reps of barbell front squats, he adds five ball slams, plus 10 reps of bench press and 10 ball slam, among other routines.

In addition to maintaining a strong and demanding physical training, Jason Statham follows a strict diet that involves the consumption of lots of proteins and good fats. The actor’s diet consists of chicken, fish, oatmeal, dried fruit, steamed vegetables, rice and miso soup. “Ninety-five percent of what I eat is good food and most of all it’s high in protein,” says Statham. Chocolate is his only sin and he always avoids the deep-fried and over-processed ones. You only take sugary or starchy products before exercise, don’t eat anything after 7pm and try to drink about three liters of water a day to keep yourself hydrated.

Jason Statham has established himself as one of the most interesting actors in the action genre. The actor is about to release “The Expendables 4”, which will be Sylvester Stallone’s farewell to the saga, leaving Statham in charge of the show. Additionally, there is a strong rumor about his possible entry into Marvel. Meanwhile, the actor continues to train and tone his enviable muscles, ready for the next scene.
